Creeping into Clarkson and Salmon’s Divinity Anatomized is the even more transgressive sense that the sex act (Salmon thinks of its human terms as heterosexual penetration but with no sense of any order of earthly marriage) is the time and place where God’s presence is fulfilled in man, and where God is expressing love for mankind.
